Description of the Scheme

The nursery provides children with a bilingual environment of sign language and spoken language, which allows children to receive bilingual input and grow up healthily and happily in a caring environment. In addition, the nursery offers support for parents and promotes communication and interaction between parents and children.

Target Group

Children aged 1 to 3 who have hearing impairment or have parent(s) with hearing impairment.

Location

Creche Infantário de Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Scope of Service

Eligible applicant will be referred to the nursery in the Pilot Scheme.

Application Venue

Social Service Centre in the applicant’s residential area, Children and Youth Service Division, service organizations or early intervention organizations for the hearing impaired funded by IAS.

Application Procedures and Documents Required

The applicant is required to submit an application at Social Service Centre in his/her residential area, Children and Youth Service Division, service organizations or early intervention organizations for the hearing impaired funded by IAS which will be referred to the Children and Youth Service Division for follow-up. The applicant should submit:

• Photocopies of valid Macao Resident Identity Card of the applicant and his/her family members;

• Photocopy of documentation to prove the hearing impairment of the child or his/her parents (father or

  mother), e.g., Disability Assessment and Registration Card issued by IAS, or other evidential

  document issued by a hospital or assessment institution;

• Other relevant documents(For enquiry, please contact the unit accepting the application.).

Charge

Free of charge.

Note

Monthly fees will be determined by the Nursery after the referral.

Time for Arranging Appointment

Depending on the application. If necessary, immediate interview can be arranged.

Duration of the Scheme

September 2018 to August 2021.
